We'll let you decide, Cold Cathode, Fluorescents or LEDs
Cold Cathode – Kemps Coveline (KL-CLN-3C-EMD100)Cold Cathode, a true linear 360 degree seamless light source, which provides high lumen output on the surrounding surfaces areas and offers a very gradual fade in light intensity on surfaces surrounding the lamp itself. In terms of colour saturation, lumen output, long life, energy efficiency and seamless lighting, Cold Cathode provides the best overall solution for in-direct lighting and facade lighting.
FluorescentsShort fluorescent lamps have been placed end to end around this partly curved area to provide in-direct lighting, but a strong visual effect has not been achieved with this inappropriate lighting. Cold Cathode lighting is a much more suitable product for this type of design because it provides a seamless, shadow free effect and can be formed perfectly to fit the shape of the ceiling feature.
LEDsLEDs provide very directional point source lighting which is enhanced with the additional use of varying degrees of optics. But when used for cove lighting a defined line of light between illuminated and non-illuminated surfaces known as "cut off" is created. This causes a shadow which is defined by the height of the cove fascia or upstand, the use of Cold Cathode lighting instead would create a more desirable effect. |
