New products mean larger premises for Kemps
The new site will take Kemps to the next level
Here at Kemps Architectural Lighting we are delighted to have moved to a large, modern facility close to the city centre to align with our planned growth and further expansion into LED products.
As a globally recognised lighting brand that has delivered on projects across the World for the likes of Ritz Carlton, Heathrow Airport and the newly refurbished Kings Cross Station, we now require a larger floor space to match growing demand for our bespoke LED, Cold Cathode and Neon products.
The new base has an increased floor space of 13,000 square feet - three times the size of our previous site. It also boasts additional office space and meeting areas and will provide ample space for dedicated research and development whilst drastically increasing our production capacity.
Whilst maximising the business's efficiency and lean manufacturing capability, founder and Managing Director, Mark Kemp also sees the industry's lurch towards LED lighting as a vital reason for the big move:
"With an ever increasing demand from our clients for LED products, we understand the importance of further expansion into this area. Our new premises give us the space to develop these products with dedicated assembly lines enabling us to handle bespoke lighting projects of any size."
With global LED lighting sales forecast to soar this year, Kemps are acutely aware of the increasing shift away from more traditional lighting technology. With industry analysts expecting global LED commercial lighting market penetration to reach 23 percent by the end of the year, now is the time for manufacturers to improve and develop their products.
Kemp believes this change places increasing importance on expanding Kemps' offering and being able to offer bespoke solutions to clients:
"We know the industry is changing which is why we are looking to increase our product offering in the LED market. We are about to launch new Linear LED fixtures incorporating the very latest in remote phosphor LED technology along with a new range of LED down lights with a unique optical design."
Kemps remain a market leader for Cold Cathode with our latest range of low energy lightingCoveline ECOoffering an ultra-long life of approximately 70,000 hours - 40% longer than any LED product. With nothing else on the market offering such durability, Coveline ECO is an attractive solution for designers working on Hotels, Restaurants, Malls and Airports.
The move has been partly funded by the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership's Business Growth Programme with Kemps looking to recruit more staff to maximise the increasing opportunities for new business and growth over the next 10 years.
The increased office and manufacturing space means new members of the Kemps team will become part of our exciting new projects including an £800,000 project for the Hilton Hotel chain. Kemps will be manufacturing over 20km of lighting - the largest order in our 25 year history and a clear signal that they are ready for the next level:
"It's a really exciting time here at Kemps and with a diverse range of new projects we're also looking forward to recruiting new staff that match our ambitions and possess a variety of skill sets."
Kemp also thinks the buildings' functionality and location equips the business in an increasingly globalised marketplace:
"Right now many of our clients are coming from overseas so
it's fantastic to have the meeting and hospitality facilities to
welcome visitors and potential clients. With such easy access to
the airport and rail station I don't think we could have found a
