The team at Kemps

Mark is the Managing Director at Kemps. He has been at the forefront of Kemps since 1989 and has guided the business from its original roots in the signage sector through to the present day, with the business now fully immersed in LED luminaire design and manufacturing.

He is a humble and proud leader with 30+ years’ experience, who still cares deeply about striving for perfection, as well as providing the service and support clients have come to expect.

Outside of work, Mark likes cycling – both in the Yorkshire Dales and abroad, travelling, spending time with family and friends and watching football.

Mandy has been part of Kemps since setting up the business with Mark in 1989. As a Director, her role includes looking after finance, health & safety and HR.

Mandy has seen the company grow from strength to strength and evolve over the years. She’s proud to be part of the team that has manufactured amazing lighting projects in countries all over the world. Mandy loves that each team member is dedicated to providing a high level of service and support, both to clients and one another, and approach each and every project with drive and enthusiasm.

When not at work, Mandy likes spending time with friends and family, travelling, eating out, walking and shopping.

Nicola is a Company Director at Kemps. A long-standing member of the team, she has been part of the company for over 20 years now. Over these years, Nicola has helped drive the excellent results we’re renowned for.

Day-to-day, Nicola mainly deals with account management at Kemps. She plays a large part in running the admin side of the business, making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes and our consistently high standards are maintained.

In her spare time, Nicola enjoys walking with her King Charles Spaniel, Hudson, as well as eating out and foreign travel when possible.

Nick is a Business Development Manager at Kemps and has been part of the team since 2014. Nick is instrumental in helping the business grow, ultimately helping generate revenue by identifying new business opportunities within the industry.

Nick loves to be part of a close-knit team that works on an eclectic pipeline of projects. Driven by pushing the boundaries of LED technology, with Nick’s help we have grown to be one of Europe’s leading lighting manufacturers.

Outside of work, Nick’s main hobby is indoor rowing – a sport in which he’s been active for nearly 20 years.

Joanne works in Internal Sales and has been part of the team at Kemps since February 2015. She helps source new sales opportunities, manage customer accounts and deliver fantastic customer service.

Joanne loves working with Kemps’ clients on a variety of fantastic projects. Clients are confident they can trust Joanne to help them move forward on samples, quotes and technical knowledge, which means she has now become the main contact for some clients. She also loves that the team all work well together.

Outside of work, Joanne likes spending time with her family, walking her dog, reading, going on family holidays and shopping.

Geoff is a Senior Project Manager and has been part of the team since 1991. Geoff helps make sure we’re constantly exceeding our clients’ expectations through the planning, organising and execution of ambitious lighting projects.

The Kemps operation has numerous high volume lighting orders to fulfil during any given week, and Geoff is instrumental in ensuring every order, no matter how large or complex, runs to schedule. He enjoys having the opportunity to work with our clients and his team on some amazing projects, both in the UK and around the world.

When he’s not working, Geoff is a fan of live music and sport.

Joe is a Project Manager and he’s been part of the team since August 2016. It’s his job to help prepare, plan and lead the team towards our goals.

Joe enjoys working on a range of exciting projects, particularly seeing the end result after installation and seeing what everyone’s hard work has gone into. He loves the sense of teamwork within the company. Kemps is a trusted by world renowned architects and lighting designers, and reliable service and delivery is one reason why.

When not working, Joe likes football and travelling, and is a big Leeds United fan.

Dan is our Design Engineer and is in charge of all aspects of luminaire design, from research & development through to design of new products and production and after-sales support.

Dan has been part of the team since September 2022 and enjoys the wide scope of work involved in his role, from bespoke design enquiries to creation of marketing materials. He takes great pride in seeing new designs come to life in production and even more so once thay have left the factory and are out in use around the world. Dan is passionate about design and is constantly trying to expand his knowledge and skills around lighting design.

In his spare time, Dan enjoys creating music, watching motorsport and spending time with his family.

Dan is now our Production Manager after being promoted in Sept 2022, having worked his way up since joining the family business in Dec 2015 as an Apprentice. He now manages the team and schedule to keep our projects on track with great pride, enthusiasm and energy.

He works closely with our suppliers and projects team to ensure the many orders are produced to the highest quality and on time to meet our clients installation programme.

In his spare time Dan enjoys playing, watching football and spending time with family and friends.

Hudson is a Ruby King Charles Cavalier and was born in Oct 2021. He loves to be around people and he always helps to raise a smile when the day may not be going so well. When at work he loves to power nap and enjoys a couple of walks especially when its lunch time!

Hobbies include walking, sleeping, cuddles, destroying his toys and eating.
