Have you seen the Greek Street transformation in Leeds?
Greek Street has recently been pedestrianised to create more room for resident bars and restaurants to make use of. The street has been given a modern new look, complete with feature lighting pendants manufactured by us. The resurfaced road is being used for outdoor seating.
What do you think to these? We've created these app controlled lights for Greek Street in Leeds City Centre.
They're going to look great! Watch this space… pic.twitter.com/VHBl9WdI7z

Lighting for Greek Street, Leeds
It’s always great taking part in local developments. Because we manufacture products for locations across the globe, we don’t always get to see the finished results in person. But these lights are only a few miles from our factory on Kirkstall Road.
The project was led by Leeds City Council in partnership with local businesses and benefited from £300,000 of private sector contributions. The result is more space for customers to enjoy safely eating and drinking outdoors, during and after the pandemic.
According to Leeds Live, the leader of Leeds City Council, Counciller Judith Blake, said: “This is a great example of the fantastic work that can be achieved when the council works closely with businesses to improve public spaces across our city.”

How was the lighting for Greek Street created?
The requirement was pendant lighting with programmable colour settings. We created 10 RGBW Sabre tubular pendants to be installed on posts along the street. Each pendant is CASAMBI controlled, meaning different colour patterns can be achieved, controlled remotely.
Settings include rainbow colours for Leeds Pride, red and white scenes for St. George’s Day, green for St. Patrick’s Day, and blue and yellow for the Tour de Yorkshire.
We manufactured these lights right before lockdown, which delayed their installation. They were installed by SSE when it became safe, in time for the reopening of the bars and restaurants. It’s brilliant to finally see them in action, welcoming the people of Leeds back to Greek Street.
Greek St is looking pretty great, even if we do say so ourselves! Have you seen the new look? 😍 pic.twitter.com/622n8UXsYo
