In May 2026, Kemps Architectural Lighting helped transform Lakeside Shopping Centre with an innovative LED lighting upgrade, enhancing the visitor experience while improving energy efficiency.

Over 1,500 metres of Kemps Proteus RXL RGBW LED lighting were installed within existing architectural coves, creating dynamic colour-changing effects controlled through Casambi Bluetooth technology. This flexible solution allows the centre to introduce bespoke lighting scenes for seasonal events, promotions and everyday ambience.

Additionally, over 250 Rovasi Nucleons recessed LED downlights replaced outdated halogen fittings. Specified at 3000K and CRI 90, these provide exceptional colour rendering, improved light quality and significantly reduced energy consumption.

The result is a vibrant, welcoming retail environment, demonstrating how intelligent architectural lighting can transform commercial spaces while delivering long-term operational benefits.

Kemps Lighting supported the project from the initial site visit, working closely with the client to address installation challenges and achieve the desired results. Our engineer then programmed lighting scenes on site and provided comprehensive hands-on training.

The current lighting in the shopping mall clearly required an enhancement, necessitating a transition to LED technology. The outdated lighting and energy-intensive technology had been neglected for many years, prompting the client’s commitment to revitalizing the illumination.
