The lighting events and awards we’re looking forward to
In an industry brimming with creativity, there are always new ideas to explore. Lighting events provide a space for designers, architects, consultants and manufacturers, like ourselves, to get together and discuss new ideas and developments.
For us, events are an opportunity to discover lighting trends and new technologies that could add to our product range and client briefs. They also provide the chance for us to catch up with lighting designers and consultants to discuss how we can manufacturer products unique to them.

We’re attending LuxLive next week and we’re interested to hear about the developments on smart lighting systems, Bluetooth control and to learn more about the human circadian cycle.
The Kemps product design team are currently developing a range specifically for interior lighting in the workplace, due for release in 2020, so these sessions should be particularly useful.

FX Awards 27th November 2019
The FX Design Awards take place at the end of November. We’ll be keeping an eye on the Lighting Design category, where our client StudioFractal is shortlisted for the Royal Opera House project.
We created a series of bespoke LED fixtures for the 280+ year old building, working from StudioFractal’s designs. The project was one of 2018’s highlights for us and it’s fantastic to see how much recognition it’s received.

Another of our clients, GIA Equation, is shortlisted alongside international entries within in two categories; In Art: Bespoke; and In Places: High Budget. Light & Building Frankfurt, 8th – 13th March 2020
We’re looking forward to returning to this event in March next year. It’s an opportunity for us to immerse ourselves in the latest lighting technology and discover new techniques that we can take back to the factory. Annual events such as this enable us to make sure our lighting products are at the forefront – and stay that way.
It’s been a year of award-winning lighting designs
Earlier in the year, we celebrated the StudioFractal’s award wins for their lighting designs at London Wall Place and Royal Opera House. These projects were recognised by the prestigious professional body The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and the Lighting Design Awards.
It’s a privilege to work with some of the best minds and organisations in lighting design and we’re pleased to be able to contribute our expertise to such notable projects. We’re looking forward to finding out the results of a new season of awards and seeing what another year in architectural lighting has in store for us.
Did you know Kemps has been in business for 30 years? We created a video to celebrate and share our journey so far. Take a look at it here.
